Turtle's Point of View

My poor sweet, defenseless, retarded, turtle.

Turtles have a strange way of thinking. I've had my turtle for 8 days and let me tell you, those 8 days have been quite out of the ordinary.

My turtle thinks he is the king of the world. Honestly he does. I always thought that turtle were simple minded, and didn't really have thoughts - kind of like goldfish. But nooooooo sir! This guy actually thinks he is a king. He likes to bask in the sun for all hours of the day while catching up on some beauty sleep every now and then. Then after basking he likes to take a nice cool dip in the water abyss below him. He likes to be hand-fed - chasing his turtle pellets is below him. So everyday I risk the tips of my fingers hoping that this little guy doesn't try to be funny and nip me with his beak. He goes to sleep at sundown because he likes to rise with the sun, which is ohhh hmmm 5 o'clock AM.

Turtle is a light sleeper. Every night when I go to bed, even just walking into the room wakes him up. I feel so bad when I wake him up becasue he gives you this look! Like - what have you done? WHY?! Its heartbreaking to see him sleeping so peacefully and then next think you notice is he's moving his head slightly side to side and blinking his eyes, and then he turns around and gives you this look! He woudld just sit there and glare! Like he was thinking 'damn bitch woke me up again, what is with these humans!' Well so0o0o0o0rrrryyy buddy!

Its cool though. Cause he gets back at me. Remember how I said he rises with the sun? Ya well 5 AM is turtle's 'crazy time'. Yessss its great! He all of a sudden greats really interested in everything in his tank. Like EVERYTHINGGG! Suddenly he  finds interest in digging holes in the stones beneath him and throwing stones and jumping off his dock trying to make the loudest splash! Its great! Like this morning at 7 I was peacefully dreaming when I hear stones being grinded together. Wtf is that turtle doing. ughh. Oh turtles just stuck in his filter. *rolls over, closes eyes*. TURTLLEEEE! WTF! He just got a new filter in his tank earlier this week and he was deathly afraid of it for days. But I guess he LOVES it now because all he wants is to be near it. He likes to stick his body underneath the tube (which is only and inch above the the stones) which sucks the water up. Well turtle is does not fit under there. And he got stuck this morning.I look over to find him failing about, kicking stones and trying to swim away even though he isn't moving an inch. He has some weird fasination for strange things... my turtle is retarded.

I lowered the filter to he can't get under. I think he is mad at me now. He keeps trying to dig a hole below the tube ... its not working hehe. He gave up trying and is currently basking like a good little king!
